Happy Birthday LACI!!

Today is Laci's actual birthday, but our family celebrated last night. Here are a couple of videoes of the event.

Happy Birthday is by far the worst possible song to sing on key, as you can tell from the above video. When Connie was first brought into our family she told us we were horrible at it, so we definitely keep at that standard of singing.

Next is something that not all families do, mine is a little on the strange side, so here are my wonderful siblings participating in a competition. Notice that I did not participate...does this mean I am the only normal one of the three? That is open for interpretation.

Ben & Basketball, Sat Feb 2

Last Saturday, Chris and I drove to Plano to see Ben play basketball. It was so much fun watching all the 5 & 6 year olds making their best efforts at playing the game. Ben was our own little star, making several baskets and I was lucky enough to catch one on video. His 2nd cousin Aidan is also on the team and provided us with a lot of entertainment as well. Chris decided that he had to bring his basketball to get our "all stars" to sign it. Here are some pictures of that:

Ben was a little shy at first about signing the ball, but Aiden had no problem with it, then a team-mate of theirs also had to sign it and then of course, Aiden's little sister Zoey did too. Here is a picture of Chris with our awesome basketball players:

We had such a great time hanging out with Joe, Misti, Ben, and Taylor all day. Here is a video of Taylor that I thought was just way too cute. She is really into talking a LOT now, so it is funny to see what all she has to say!

The Day of Wind...Tuesday Jan 29

This is what happened at our home the day of wind...or at least that is what I am calling Tuesday, January 29, 2008. Our pool liner, which we were already planning to replace because of holes, was ripped out of our pool and into tiny little shreds of pieces all over our yard. We spent the entire following Friday afternoon picking up all the tiny pieces and ripping the rest of the liner out.
Much to our dismay we found several spots on the interior of the pool that are rusting due to the holes that were in the liner. Chris and I are trying to decide what we want to do about all of this. Expenses, expenses...

The Flu

Yeah that is correct, I have the flu.

It all started mild and sneaky like on Saturday afternoon with a little cough. I enjoyed my Saturday which was full of good food and family time with Joe, Misti, Ben and Taylor.

But those memories are hard to sustain when waking up early Sunday morning with a fever and feeling completely awful. Sunday, the day of the superbowl, the day I was supposed to attend a baby shower and a super bowl party. Both of which I was looking forward to... But do I attend either? NO, because I am running a fever of 103.2 and barely feel like lifting my head off of the pillow.

I call in sick to work for Monday late Sunday evening and head to the doctor Monday morning. I wait for an hour to get in to a room, even though I had an appointment, it's ok...I think half of Ft. Worth was there, b/c there wasn't even an empty seat in the waiting room.

When I get in to see the doctor I explain my symptoms: fever, full body aches, cough, sore throat, runny nose, etc. Classic flu. Yep, milady that is what you have. So I get out of there and get into the car with Chris. My oh so sweet husband who has been waiting on me hand and foot b/c he can tell there is something seriously wrong with me, has taken a long lunch break to take me to the doctor. He then drops me back off at home and takes my meds to the pharmacy.

He doesn't return until after 5:00 pm with my flu meds and by this time I am quite possibly feeling worse than before because my throat is hurting 10 times worse and I can barely talk. People keep calling to check on me which is loving and sweet and all but when it is painful to talk it is not all that enjoyable. Finally I get the flu medicine in me and think NOW I will start to feel better.

But, wait, what is this...I am feeling really nauseous. I check the labels of the drugs I just consumed. And YES, lo and behold the one that you take to get rid of the flu can cause nausea and vomiting for 1-2 days as your body adjusts to the medication. GREAT!! Just what I wanted on top of everything. I tell Chris to go get me a big tupperware bowl and he proceeds to ask where they are and what approximate size I would like, I say, Honey I don't care just get me one. Then my phone starts to ring again and I move as quickly as possible to the toilet b/c the bowl is just not coming fast enough. So I spend the next 5 or so minutes over the porcelain throne and return to my sick haven otherwise known as our couch.

Tuesday...well Tuesday I think I am feeling better and am almost positive that I will be able to go to work on Wed, but unfortunately my day is filled with dizziness and extreme tiredness. But wait...I feel a fever blister coming on...oh great. And then another, and yet another. By Tuesday night I had 4 clusters of fever blisters taking over my entire lower lip, the right corner of my mouth, and below the left corner of my mouth on my chin. Lovely. Now, not only do I feel like poo, but I look horrible as well.

Wednesday. I wake up to find yet another fever blister growing on my chin, so I call the doctor and make yet another appt this week. This time I get in much more quickly but I am an emotional wreck because not only do I still not feel well, the lower half of my face looks like a mutant. I feel so UGLY! Anyways, an hour later and 2 more meds to add to my current load later I am back at home and feeling exhausted again. Chris keeps reassuring me that I do not look ugly, but all it takes is one look in the mirror to quickly change my mind of his loving reassurance.

Not that great of a post I know, but for those of you who didn't know what is going on, now you do. I am going to go back to my couch now to rest some more. Please pray that I get to feeling better soon, that these mutant-like fever blisters disappear, and that Chris stays healthy. I don't wish this on anyone else, especially my husband who has been taking such good care of me.

I will post pics from Saturday and last Tuesday later, I wanted to post on them earlier but as you can tell now I haven't felt much like it. Thanks for the prayers.

Rotten Dog!

I just decided to record a video of my rotten dog, proving to everyone how he runs from me for no good reason. He annoys me more than anything. Well enjoy!

This is the first half of his orneriness:

And now he becomes rocket dog extraordinaire.

Does anyone else see why this is more than annoying to me. Why does he do this, does he honestly think I am going to chase him? And why hasn't the fact that he has been neutered slowed him down a bit? Everyone told me that after he was neutered he would be more calm. Does this look like a calm dog to you?!!

Silly Girlies

Well on Sunday night, little Miss Atlee pressured me into keeping her for the night...hehehe. Meaning I cannot resist her when I am getting ready to leave and she says "I go with you" oh so sweet and innocent like. So we discuss this spending the night business in detail, because at first she says she wants to go with me but wants to stay the night with her mommy.

At this time it is 8:00 pm and her mommy is not going to come by and get her if she goes home with me. So she gets distracted and goes to play in her tent in grandma's living room, so I tell her bye, but she comes back with a pouty face, saying "I go with you Leh-key."

So needless to say, who can turn down a sweet little pouty face?! Not me, so she comes home with me.

We play and Chris comes home. When Chris first got home he was watching the end of a Mavs game he had on the DVR and he said "C'mon Dirk!" so here goes Atlee "C'mon Dirt." It was so funny! I guess it does kinda sound like dirt. We then watched Cinderella and Chris retired to bed halfway through. I am exhausted too, but is Atlee? Well, no, she is ready for some fun! We finally go to bed around 11 pm and I don't end up in my own bed until 2:30 in the morning, but not because of Atlee, more so b/c I was afraid to leave her by herself in another room and I fell asleep.

Well after we got up on Monday morning...Chris HAD to go and get her donuts (which she barely ate) and then HAD to wake her up to eat them. I gave her a bath and then this is what she played afterward.

Yep, she had to play in Spencer's Crate, and then you know she had to have him get in there with her.

She is such a funny one.

The Saturday night of last weekend, we had both Mia and Jules stay the night with us. They came over right after a birthday party on Saturday and Jules was exhausted, but refused to admit it you know, well this is what happened as soon as she lay still on the couch.

They are so precious when they are asleep! This little one is precious anyways, but I just love all kids when they are asleep, they are so sweet. Well while Jules was doing this, Mia was doing this:

Yep. While I am inside cooking dinner, Chris and Mia are outside hanging out with Spencer (for all I knew that is). Then Chris says, Hey, you need to come out here and get a picture of this. Well apparently Chris was raking the leaves up and Mia decided that she wanted to help, b/c you know she is Big. She felt like such a big girl and such a big helper, because she was helping out Chris. She explained that she was raking all the leaves in a pile so Spencer could play with them tonight and tomorrow. And that she would come out there and rake them up in a pile again tomorrow, so he could play again. She is so funny.
We enjoy keeping our nieces and nephew so much. They bring us so much JOY!

Tada!!

And now for the much awaited pictures of our newly remodeled master bedroom...can I have a drumroll please?!
