Costume Party & Thoughts

Well we had our annual costume party again. Except this year with no one from our family :( That really did leave a big hole in our party, but we will blame my mom and her stubborn self for that. Beyond that, it was the first year we had kiddos attend and included them in the fun. I think they enjoyed it...I really am not an expert, because you see I have no children. This resulted in a lot of fun, but only 1 adult game played and I felt lame because it was uno attack...during this we all learned that apparently competitiveness runs in the family of Anjolee, because Kari has it too!! Haha! She yelled "UNO!!" at Jeremy which resulted in me having to look up the rules for the 30th time while playing...and by the way Kari WAS correct and Jeremy did have to push the button to take the chance of getting numerous cards spit out at him. He was lucky though and still kept his lonely only card. I was SO glad that Kari and Justin & Jeremy and Natalie came...it was their first Costume Party to attend...I hope they weren't disappointed.

One thing I learned was that when you invite kids...the parents leave early and your party ends at about 9:30 instead of midnight or later. I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier! DUH! Anyways...Chris and I had good conversations with Kari and Justin after all the peeps left...actually I should say Kari and I had wonderful conversations...which ended in Justin dragging Kari out because apparently Kari and I were talking to much. GO figure!! Haha! He was tired though because he woke up early to help with a garage sale, so I do not fault him for this, I still enjoyed his company :)

Here are some pics from the party:

Look at those best buddies...they even think alike when it comes to dressing up! Crazy men!

After everyone left and I cleaned up the house a bit, Chris and I went to a party hosted by one of his co-workers. This person actually has a dance room with a bar in their house!! Let's just say this party had a much different environment then ours. You could smell the alcohol from the street. Needless to say we didn't stay long.

Time for random thoughts:

I feel like a lion when I wear my hair curly. Simply stated, my hair is so huge, I feel like I have this big poofy mane surrounding my face.
Why is it that immediately after you get married people ask you "So when are you having kids?" Seriously...did you WANT us to be trying before now? That is the only possible way I could answer there question they way they want "Well NOW of course!!" HA! You know, what if we struggled with infertility? What then? I think this is a rude question to ask a person who just recently got married. Granted I have been married for three years now and I am sure people are wondering, but honestly do you REALLY want to know how often Chris and I have sex? I believe this to be none of your business, so there! Sheesh people! This is a decision between Chris and I and NO ONE else!
I ate WAY too many brownies within the last 3 days. Well to be honest too many brownies, peanut butter treat thingys and pumpkin bread. I feel like I have swallowed a pound of flour and it is making my tummy as hard as a rock! I need to puke so I will feel smaller.
I would like to lose about 15 pounds. I know, some of you think this is ridiculous, but I would just feel more comfortable in my body if I did. Obviously this won't be happening anytime soon since I gorged myself on yummy, yet bad-for-me food this weekend.

3rd Anniversary

This is what we looked like before we left for our dinner date last night. We went to Southlake Town Square and walked around a bit and then ate at the Cheesecake Factory. The food was yummy and we had a wonderful relaxing evening together. I love my Christopher!

Today's thoughts...

Today during a gabby lunch with Ellie, we decided to eat outside, as we have been doing since the weather is so nice. Well today it was especially windy and my cup of Dr. Pepper blew over and spilled all over my knees, so I was all nice and sticky for the remainder of the day around my knee area. Wonderful.

This morning I stepped in some of Spencer's doggy doo. Gross! I tried diligently to get the mess off of my shoe and even got desperate enough to get a spoon and scrape most of it out! This bothered me all day...I kept thinking I could smell it. Every time one of the guys walked by me at work he said "you smell that?", I got text messages saying that there was an awful aroma in my office and then one guy said my office smelled like cat pee, while the other said it smelled like the stuff in the bottom of the gerbil cage. SERIOUSLY?! Do I always have to be teased??? The coin phrase I hear around here is "you know I wouldn't tease you if I didn't like you". That is grand. With that I must conclude that I am apparently well liked. I did spray febreeze all over my office in hopes of getting rid of whatever it was that they were smelling.

Apparently I am a food genie. Did you know this?? I get called at all hours of the day wondering what I might be preparing for dinner. This person asks me this from sitting at home in the recliner. I reply with, "well, what meat have you set out?" to this I get nothing because you know apparently I need to prepare a menu, set out all the meat myself, then come home after working a ten hour day and sitting in traffic for 30 minutes and prepare dinner so that we can eat. I will not mention this person's name, but the unnameable also called me on the way home from Wichita Falls today to ask what I was making for dinner. I love the unnameable even if he does think I am some kind of food wizard...should I apply a version of the last coin phrase and say "the unnameable wouldn't ask me to cook if he didn't like the way I cooked." Yeah that is it...I am a a chef extraordinaire.

I have a new obsession with chocolate covered raisins. They are wonderful. I have convinced myself that even though I am getting my chocolate fix they are partially good for me, because you know there IS a raisin in there, so they can't be all bad.

One of my bosses reminds me of George Wade (Hugh Grant) in Two Weeks Notice. If you know this person you might agree, but I find it very funny. Actually he just reminds me of Hugh Grant in general...I have no idea why.

Funny Quotes from my Favorite Movie:
[talking about a leather belt]
George Wade: What do you think of this? Too ornate? Or do you think it's... beltacular.

George Wade: Before you came into my life I could make all kinds of decisions now I'm addicted I have to know what you think. What do you think?
[holds up cufflinks]
Lucy Kelson: I think your the most selfish human being on the planet.
George Wade: Well that's just silly. Have you met everybody on the planet?

Bones is my favorite TV show and the only one I bother to record on my DVR. I love Bones and Booth...they are hilariously funny in their conversations and they are always solving a very interesting case. Although last week I could not get the vision of a partially decomposed leg and foot falling out of the top of an elevator out of my head and it woke me up twice in the middle of the night.

Speaking of that, when I was younger I could watch all kinds of scary movies and it would never have any effect on my sleeping ability. Now if I watch even a dumb one like "Shaun of the Dead" I have nightmares for days and I cannot get the picture of unrealistic, dopey looking zombies out of my head!!! So I pose this question...was I really THAT tired in high school or I am becoming more wimpy with age? I still love "Scream" though...that movie cracks me up!

Quotes again:
Sidney Prescott: Stu, Stu, Stu, what's your motive? Billy's got one, the police are on their way, what are you gonna tell them?
Stu: Peer pressure, I'm far too sensitive.

Stu: Did you really call the police?
Sidney Prescott: You bet your sorry *booty* I did.
Stu: My mom and dad are gonna be so mad at me!

While looking up the above mentioned movie quotes...I just realized how much cussing is in that movie. That could be one of the reasons it is rated R...just a guess.

Funny Atlee

I never get videos of Atlee anymore. She is a funny child though. I love the looks of determination/confusion during this one...

Wild Monkey's I tell ya!

Here is proof to my previous post stating that the girls are like wild monkeys when they get out of the bath at my house.

Pictures from Sunday

My Grandma and Wanda Lee...two funny little ladies

The best group shot I got that evening. Aren't they a cute bunch? Excluding my brother's nasty woolly-mammoth like beard...YUCK!! Poor poor Connie...

Atlee Sway Baby Cakes...I like calling her that...not sure why. Atlee's face was like this for about 30 minutes after she woke up from her nap at my house. The poor kid had about 13 mosquito bites that just kept itching and she kept saying that they hurt. Poor baby. We covered her in caladryl later in the evening and all was good. But isn't the Hollywood shirt that Chris and I got her just precious on her?

Jules Grae grins more than any person I know...isn't she the CUTEST?!?! She is the one that suggested that I give them all a bath at Grandma's house on Sunday night. Why is it that she always wants to take a bath when she is with me? I dunno!! She is so stinking cute though and got all the girls hyped up about it, so I sent kiddos home clean and smelling good!

Mia with her funny face. This girl told me something so funny in the restroom on Sunday evening, but I don't know if I should share with the blogging world. But the gist of it is she told me that she is only allowed to see her mommy and daddy's booties (this she refers to as both private parts). I replied with "well that is a good theory" to which she kept going to say "except for my daddy's long thing" with hand motions to go with it. I cracked up so hard that I could hardly breathe. Her daddy thought this was funny too, so I guess it is ok I just told everyone that. HAHAHA!
